With so much competition online, branding sets you apart from your competition and increases your chances of getting more customers. Branding can be a memorable tagline, slogan, or jingle that is consistent with your brand. It’s a great way to extend your brand because it promotes your product and encourages customers to check you at least out. I’m hoping they bite.

I’ve observed a few things about branding in my copywriting career, which later comes out to be true. You must know them for your brand’s success.

This is going to be a very short blog about those 5 unheard truths about branding. Keep reading!

The Truths About Branding

  1. Most people can only remember 7 brands in a single category/product

For example, if you’ll ask me how many brands I remember for shoes, I would say- Puma, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Sketcher, Woodland, and that’s it. So see, I don’t even recall the 7th brand in one go.

Pro tip: Make a solid marketing strategy so that you can get added to the top 7 list.

2. Attention is needed for your brand to lift off.

Attention is important for a brand’s growth and efficacy. It is necessary to get a brand mentioned and to be noticed. It’s attention to get remembered — to establish that all-important mental availability — and it’s done in the most imaginable encodings, based on unique assets.

Pro tip: Build your unique value proposition, build trust, and make a crystal clear strategy.

3. Your personal brand will ignore certain people. And that’s fine.

Isn’t it true that you should market to everyone for maximum success? Wrong. Although it may appear paradoxical at first, focusing on a specific target group will help your company survive and make your product or service more memorable.

Pro tip: Understanding your target market allows you to create relationships and better engage with customers and enhance ROI.

4. Excellent customer service is no more enough to stand out. You need it for your brand to thrive.

Customer service is crucial to your company’s success because it keeps customers happy and allows you to extract more value from them. Businesses may recoup client acquisition expenditures and create a loyal following that refers to consumers, serves as case studies, and gives testimonials and reviews by delivering excellent customer service.

Pro tip: Always communicate clearly and speak as your customers do. And use the right tools and positive language.

5. Building your brand on one platform is far greater than building it on multiple platforms at the start.

Cross-platform branding, often known as multi-platform branding, is simple to say but complicated to implement. The technique comprises the continuous transmission of brand messaging and visuals across traditional and digital media platforms to meet client objectives.

Pro tip: A brand is powerful when it condenses and renders tangible a company’s peak achievements across time and when it convincingly displays its uniqueness across all checkpoints.
